Rosie's Campaign for the Regeneration of Skelmersdale Town Centre

The future of Skelmersdale Town Centre redevelopment was threatened by the Tesco plans for Kirkby.  I have supported the renewal of the town centre with new shops, improved local environment and new housing for the town.  I lobbied Government ministers, asked Parliamentary Questions, and opposed the plans as they would have killed off the Skelmersdale town centre redevelopment.  I am delighted with Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government’s announcement rejected the Tesco plans. We can now move forward with a comprehensive plan to ensure that Skelmersdale gets the help it needs to realise it's vision.
