The public consultation on the application to vary the Environmental Permit for Whitemoss landfill site has been extended by two weeks.
A new deadline of Friday 2 January 2015 has been set by the Environment Agency. This is following concerns raised by Rosie Cooper MP and local residents over the accessibility of the information which is substantial given the technical nature of the application.
West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said:
“I would like to thank the Environment agency for listening to residents’ concerns and extending the consultation.
“Whitemoss landfill site’s operations is a very sensitive local issue and it is important that local residents have an opportunity to have their say.
“Given the new deadline I would encourage residents to use this extension to get their submissions into the Environment Agency.”
