West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has welcomed the good news that Jenny Patterson has been elected to represent Skelmersdale North on West Lancashire Borough council.
Jenny Patterson was elected with over 80% of the vote after a quick fire campaign following the sad loss of the late Barry Nolan.
Jenny will now take office, with her first duty being to attend the Full Council meeting on Wednesday, where the political balance of the Council will be level again.
MP Rosie said:
“I am absolutely delighted not only for Jenny, but for the people of Skelmersdale North. Jenny is an outstanding campaigner and will serve the electorate brilliantly.
“Having worked with Jenny for a number of years I am very aware of her tenacity and dedication to helping others, be it the Bedroom Tax, food banks or just sorting ward issues.
“Cllr Patterson will be a great addition to the Council, and my heartiest congratulations to Jenny and our team of excellent campaign volunteers.”
Cllr Patterson said:
“It’s an absolute privilege to be elected to represent the people of Skelmersdale North and follow in the footsteps of Barry Nolan.
“I look forward to working with my ward colleague Cllr Furey and our MP Rosie Cooper to continue working and campaigning for the improvements we need to see.
“We will continue to push for the regeneration of the town centre and to fight against the closure of Glenburn Sports College.”
