West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper in a statement to the Champion said:
“I am aware from constituents’ correspondence that there are strong opinions on both sides as to whether Britain should be involved in such military action in Syria.
“In the last few days, however, I have undergone knee replacement surgery. Having just been discharged from hospital this surgery will prevent me from attending Parliament for any vote on airstrikes in Syria. The timing of the surgery has also prevented me from being part of the debate and discussions over the last week.”
