dd1.jpgWest Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper is delighted that West Lancashire will be playing its part in recognising World Down Syndrome Day on the 21 March 2016 when the cube in Skelmersdale will be lit up in blue and red.

Following a request from a constituent for the local community to recognise World Down Syndrome Day, now in its 11th year, MP Rosie Cooper raised the issue with West Lancashire Borough Council as the Cube’s owner.

The council have agreed to the request to light up the cube as part of the campaign to raise awareness and understanding of Down Syndrome.

West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said:

“I am delighted West Lancashire Borough Council have agreed to change the lighting on the cube to be part of World Down Syndrome Day.

“I thank the West Lancashire constituent who initially raised the question.”

“In doing so it shows West Lancashire as a community recognises the importance of this day and how it contributes to raising awareness of Down Syndrome and the experiences of people with Down Syndrome, those of their families and friends.
