On behalf of local residents, West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has secured a commitment from Network Rail for the pathway between Ormskirk railway and bus stations to be regularly cleaned. The site is now part of a four week cleaning and maintenance schedule.
In the last week, Network Rail have carried out a clean-up along the pathway to kick off the new maintenance commitment.
In response West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said:
“For people visiting the town or commuting daily this is the pathway they use. The litter and shrubbery made it appear scruffy, which local residents raised with me.
“Having raised this issue with Network Rail they have carried out a clean-up of the area. They have also committed to include the pathway in their regular cleaning and maintenance programme. From now on they assure me the pathway will be tidied every four weeks.
“Network Rail have listened to our concerns and acted to solve them, which I and local residents very much appreciate.”
