West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper met with children and parents of Crawford village to discuss their plans and fundraising efforts for a new play park.
Rosie met with members of the Crawford Playpark Committee and local children. MP Rosie was given a short presentation by the children outlining the committee’s plans in the village.
Residents already have the land required for the play park. Now they are in the process of trying to raise the funds necessary to purchase the equipment, complete the groundworks and for the future maintenance of the site.
Given the village’s location on the borders of West Lancashire there is no easily accessible play facilities for the community. Residents have come together with a plan to provide a safe place for children and families to play and for people to exercise.
Speaking after the visit, MP Rosie Cooper said:
“Having met with local residents and children in the village it is clear how important this scheme is to them and their willingness to work hard to make it a reality for the benefit of the whole community.
“It is great to see the way in which the local community in Crawford has come together, across the generations.
“The committee members along with significant local support have made great a start in their fundraising efforts that will pay for all the work and equipment needed.
“This is a real community effort and I will continue to work with local residents as they seek to secure the sixty thousand pounds they need to realise their great community plans.”
