West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has rejected calls for services at Ormskirk Hospital to move to the Southport Hospital site.
Former Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for Southport recently wrote an open letter calling on the services of Southport and Ormskirk Hospital Trust to all be located in Southport, leaving Ormskirk to just be used for convalescence.
Rosie Cooper MP said:
“It is outrageous and will be completely unacceptable to the people of West Lancashire that the former Member of Parliament for Southport feels the need to discuss the reduction or removal of health services in West Lancashire.
“We need more services on our doorstep, not less. I will be making strenuous representations in opposition to John Pugh’s recent comments.”
