West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has welcomed the restoration of transport links to the communities of Halsall, Haskayne and Shirdley Hill.
Lancashire County Council announced recently that from late February, Holmeswood Coaches will be operating the 315 bus service to serve residents in the eastern parishes.
MP Rosie has long campaigned for improved transport links to serve residents, particularly the elderly, disabled and those without cars, and ensure issues of rural isolation are adequately addressed.
Rosie Cooper MP said:
“I very much welcome the restoration of the 315 bus service to serve residents in the rural communities who may not have had any alternative option for transport.
“Increasingly people are left isolated and excluded unable to get to the hospital, to visit family and friends and they can be cut off from vital job opportunities.
“This route will open up many opportunities to residents to connect with the towns of Ormskirk and Southport for their shopping needs, health care visits and onward travel to Liverpool, Manchester, Wigan and Preston.”
Most recently, MP Rosie was successful in campaigning for the restoration of the 313 Ashurst bus service in Skelmersdale, whilst previously, Rosie has worked to secure improved bus stop provision in Haskayne.
