West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has written to the Transport Secretary Chris Grayling about Monday’s rail meltdown following contact from numerous constituents who have been badly affected by the timetable changes.
The rail meltdown made national news for all the wrong reasons with delays and cancellations across the network, including on Southport to Manchester and Ormskirk to Preston lines.
Rosie Cooper MP said:
“I’m being contacted by many constituents expressing their frustration at the current state of the local rail network and why everything went so badly wrong with many trains delayed or just cancelled altogether.
“These issues have caused West Lancashire residents to be late for or miss work, study and appointments. It is simply not acceptable.
“We need the Transport Secretary Chris Grayling to get an urgent grip of this mess before productivity and confidence in our region is further damaged.”
