Responding to recent reports highlighting that the rollout of the full extended access service to GPs ranges from 90 per cent in Blackburn with Darwen to just 10 per cent in West Lancashire, West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper commented:
“Residents are being let down by West Lancashire CCG’s failure to reach Government targets of 90-100%, therefore I have written to the Chief Officer asking for clarification on why there is, what appears to be, a postcode lottery about the access patients have to extended hours.

“I have asked for a detailed explanation about what is being done to address this situation, especially as so many constituents complain to me about waiting weeks for GP appointments, while some cannot get one at all.”
