West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said:
“Having sought to assure me that all was well and stating that ‘this will commence running from Monday 7th January’ it would appear that Stagecoach have treated me with a similar level of disrespect as they have done their passengers as Stagecoach have signalled their withdrawal from the route to Lancashire County Council and it has gone out to tender at this point with no guarantees.
“My staff spoke to the Performance and Development Manager at Stagecoach who admitted that their response sent was ‘disingenuous’.
“Unfortunately, after failing to operate an effective model Stagecoach have thrown in the towel and left the residents of the rural parts of my West Lancashire constituency and neighbouring areas, high and dry. It is deplorable that Stagecoach should be less than open and transparent with their passengers and the local MP.
“I do hope that Lancashire County Council do secure an alternative operator so rural residents are not left isolated in their own homes while Stagecoach make their profits on other routes.”
