West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said:
“Only yesterday I signed a letter calling for appropriate funding for Lancashire Constabulary in advance of the Comprehensive Spending Review given the loss of 800 officers from the force since 2010. Policing is suffering because of these cuts.
“My West Lancashire constituents will find it completely unacceptable to hear that our scarce resources are being diverted elsewhere while police numbers have been greatly reduced here and we face the many local policing issues such as increasing knife crime. They will be expecting the Home Secretary to pick up any extra costs not Lancashire taxpayers.”
