West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper is encouraging residents across the borough to have their say on the West Lancashire Borough Council’s proposed new leisure centres.
Plans are in place to build new centres in both Ormskirk and Skelmersdale, replacing Park Pool and Nye Bevan with better facilities.
West Lancashire Borough Council are currently out for consultation with residents, which ends on Friday 2 August.
West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said:
“These proposals represent a significant investment in the health and wellbeing of the residents of West Lancashire and will cost a lot of money, so it is important that residents feed in their views on the proposals so the council is fully aware when making their decisions.
“Some residents have raised concern with me over the siting of the centres, while others believe this is long overdue investment in replacing out of date facilities.
“Whatever your views are, you should ensure that you submit these to the council via their consultation website or in writing before the 2 August deadline so that the decisions they make will be based on your opinions.”
The consultation website is westlancshubs.co.uk or you can write to the council at 52 Derby Street, Ormskirk, L39 2DF.
