The National awards which culminate in a National final at the House of Commons offer all MPs the opportunity to nominate their constituency’s favourite establishment.

This award focuses on celebrating pubs in the community and Rosie Cooper MP has nominated The Cricketers as the entrant from West Lancashire.

The Parliamentary Pub of the year competition will give 650 MPs the opportunity to nominate a pub to be recognised as the Parliamentary pub of the Year.

The main criteria for nomination is a pub that is great at what they do, this can include the range of beer or food provided, the dedication to serving the local Community or a specialism in Music or Sports.

Nominated Pubs will submit a video to the judges, last year’s winner the Four Elms from Cardiff submitted a great video linked here:

West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper said:
“Following a public vote via my website, The Cricketers came out on top to be my West Lancashire nomination for the Parliamentary Pub of the Year awards.

“I am pleased to nominate them based on their range of beers and ales, good food including quality British Pub Grub, their contribution to the local community and holding various events throughout the year.

“I now look forward to seeing the video they will put together to showcase the establishment and hopefully come out on top in the national awards later this year.”
