West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has called for people to support local foodbanks during the current Coronavirus crisis.
Ormskirk Foodbank have contacted Rosie Cooper MP seeking her support in setting up partnership working with West Lancashire Borough Council and to promote the recruitment of foodbank volunteers and volunteer distribution workers.
MP Rosie commented:
“Ormskirk Foodbank are finding that their volunteer base has depleted as many of their over 70 year old volunteers are required to self isolate.
“They are keen to recruit new foodbank volunteers and volunteer distribution workers to ease the pressure they are facing to feed local families and residents in need.
“Where you can offer any support and are fit, healthy and safe to do so, please contact Ormskirk Foodbank on 07748 951 274 or firstname.lastname@example.org or get in touch with your local foodbank to see how you can help.
“I have also written to West Lancashire Borough Council to extend the foodbank’s offer to work in partnership in the coming weeks to provide for and support our most vulnerable residents.”
