West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper commented:
“Despite the level of ambiguity in the Prime Minister’s statement, the message remains stay safe at home as much as possible. If you can you should work from home and continue to practice social distancing when going to the shops or taking daily exercise. The elderly and vulnerable should continue shielding.
“Keep washing your hands, using sanitiser and self-isolate if you become symptomatic.
“The virus has not gone away, and it is no weaker now than it has been at any point.
“For those who need medical attention they should not hesitate to seek it, whether Covid-19 related or not, while services such as West Lancashire Borough Council’s ‘West Lancs Together’ programme will continue to offer food parcels and support with medication deliveries to those who need it.
“In the meantime, I will continue to lobby the Government and fight for appropriate PPE provision and testing for frontline workers particularly those in the NHS and our carers, who have been so badly let down.”
