West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper is calling on all West Lancashire constituents to fully engage in the new Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner Andrew Snowden’s survey on what issues residents face when it comes to crime, antisocial behaviour and policing.
MP Rosie has regularly challenged the Constabulary to provide increased policing across West Lancashire related to a wide range of policing issues.
She has also challenged the Government and Policing Minister previously to provide adequate resource for Lancashire Constabulary.
Rosie Cooper MP said:
“With the new Police and Crime Commissioner in place he has set about gathering residents’ views to inform his Police and Crime Plan.
“Based on the high volume of casework I receive related to policing matters from antisocial behaviour, minimoto and scrambler use, burglaries, and much more, I have no doubt that residents in West Lancashire will have plenty to tell the Commissioner about.
“I would encourage residents to take part in the survey and champion more resource coming into West Lancashire so we can see more bobbies back on the beat, and I will continue to call on the Home Office to invest in Lancashire Constabulary and enable it to get back up to reasonable numbers after it was initially hit with a loss of 750 officers.
“We need all of them officers back and more to ensure residents feel safe and secure in their homes and their communities.”
