Rosie Cooper MP has visited Skelmersdale’s Birchwood Centre to congratulate their team at the commencement of works on a new supported housing development.
In partnership with West Lancashire Borough Council and Calico Homes, the Centre is constructing 24 short-stay apartments in a new building, which is to be called “The Birchwood West Lancs Foyer”.
The development, due to be completed in January 2023, will support young people and adults with complex needs who are at risk of homelessness.
Rosie Cooper MP commented,
“I was delighted to attend this event to celebrate the beginning of work on this vital community resource. When complete, the Foyer will serve as a hub for harm prevention and those who use its services will also be able to access the incredible ongoing work of the Birchwood Centre.
“I am really looking forward to visiting again once this project is complete and will provide support in any way I can.”
