West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has officially opened the Bright Orthodontic practices in both the centre of Skelmersdale at the Concourse and in the town centre of Ormskirk on Derby Street. Both practices offer 550 NHS places each for children needing orthodontic treatment like having braces fitted.

MP Rosie joined Bright Orthodontics owner Dr Raphy Paul, Concourse Centre Manager Gary Mitchell and staff at the Orthodontic Practice for a tour of the state-of-the-art Skelmersdale facility and officially opened the practice with a ribbon cutting. She also opened the new Ormskirk Practice, seeing the magnificent new child friendly facilities, meeting with staff and then officially opened it as well.

Rosie Cooper MP said:
“I am incredibly impressed by these wonderful facilities. Like dentistry as a whole, Orthodontics is a vital NHS service that so many children across the constituency need to access. It is brilliant that we now have local services both in the centre of Skelmersdale and centre of Ormskirk rather than families having to travel further and further away.

“I have known Raphy since 2009, when there was a similar NHS Dentistry shortage in West Lancashire. His practice in Up Holland stepped in and offered 4,700 extra NHS places. His commitment to top quality NHS care has never wavered, and I know this new orthodontic practice will be helping children in West Lancashire for years and years to come.

“It is great that at a time when dentistry is under pressure, Raphy is providing more care for West Lancashire’s children”

Dr Raphy Paul said:
“We are grateful for the opportunity and look forward to providing first-class orthodontic treatment for the residents of Skelmersdale, Ormskirk and surrounding areas in the coming years. We are a specialist orthodontic practice passionate about transforming the lives of our patients and believe each and every individual deserves to smile with confidence.

“We will be transforming the smiles of over 1000 qualifying NHS patients under 18 years old each year in our state-of-the-art premises with a fully digital workflow.  We also provide private treatment for patients who don’t meet the NHS qualifying criteria and adults.

“What makes us unique is brace treatment provided for all patients will be under the care of a specialist orthodontist, who has undergone extensive training and Royal College examinations to allow them to be registered as a specialist. This provides the very best treatment options, techniques and outcomes to our patients so they can rest assured that they are in expert hands.”
